The average frozen chicken cut export price stood at $1,225 per ton in September 2023, approximately reflecting the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a slight decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 5.7% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $1,401 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($1,790 per ton), while the average price for exports to Congo ($867 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Georgia (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average frozen chicken cut import price stood at $3,736 per ton in September 2023, picking up by 4.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 11% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $4,421 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Canada ($6,989 per ton), while the price for Chile amounted to $3,521 per ton.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Canada (+6.8%).
Frozen Chicken Cut Exports in the United States
For the fourth consecutive year, the United States recorded growth in overseas shipments of frozen cuts of chicken, which increased by 7% to 3.1M tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, frozen chicken cut exports soared to $4B in 2022.
