The average import price for nuts, edible; pistachios, fresh or dried, shelleds stood at $32,647 per ton in January 2024, picking up by 8.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2023 an increase of 33% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $35,103 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to January 2024, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($58,349 per ton), while the price for the United States ($22,371 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $42,969 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($36,853 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($23,809 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
