In 2022, the average import price for nuts, edible; macadamia, fresh or dried, shelleds amounted to $3,335 per ton, jumping by 61% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 72%. The import price peaked at $28,333 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for France.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for France amounted to -19.3% per year.

For the fourth year in a row, Cameroon recorded growth in purchases abroad of nuts, edible; macadamia, fresh or dried, shelleds, which increased by 0.5% to 185 kg in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 0.5%. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, imports of nuts, edible; macadamia, fresh or dried, shelleds surged to $617 in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a abrupt curtailment.
