In value terms, chicken meat exports contracted notably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a dramatic decrease. Liberia (X tons) and Ghana (X tons) represented the major exporters of chicken meat in 2022, reaching approx. X% and X% of total exports, respectively. Imports by Country
Ghana dominates imports structure, amounting to X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. Benin (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Guinea (X tons), Liberia (X tons), Sierra Leone (X tons) and Mauritania (X tons). All these countries together held near X% share of total imports. Gambia (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to chicken meat imports into Ghana stood at X%. At the same time, Guinea (X%), Gambia (X%), Mauritania (X%), Liberia (X%) and Sierra Leone (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Guinea emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Benin (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
