In value terms, plywood exports dropped to $X in 2023. Overall, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2022 to 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
China was the largest exporter of plywood in Asia, with the volume of exports recording X cubic meters, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. Indonesia (X cubic meters) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Vietnam (X%) and Malaysia (X%).
Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Vietnam (X%) and Indonesia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Malaysia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Vietnam (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2023, the share of China (X p.p.) and Malaysia (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

The export price in Asia stood at $X per cubic meter in 2023, waning by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a perceptible reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per cubic meter in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Iraq (X cubic meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.
