Waffle and Wafer Price in Malaysia (FOB) - 2021

The average waffle and wafer export price stood at $3,992 per ton in December 2021, picking up by 2.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2021 an increase of 10% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,409 per ton. From November 2021 to December 2021, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($4,887 per ton), while the average price for exports to Australia ($1,981 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Waffle and Wafer Price in Malaysia (CIF) - 2021

The average waffle and wafer import price stood at $3,402 per ton in December 2021, with an increase of 15% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2021 when the average import price increased by 21% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $3,723 per ton in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Poland ($10,973 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($1,965 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Waffle and wafer exports from Malaysia reduced modestly to 14K tons in 2022, waning by -4.1% against the previous year's figure. Overall, exports recorded a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 9.7%.

In value terms, waffle and wafer exports dropped to $52M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 26% against the previous year.
