Virgin Olive Oil Price in Kenya (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average virgin olive oil import price amounted to $3,820 per ton, growing by 7.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average import price increased by 18%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $4,931 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($5,215 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($1,413 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Virgin Olive Oil Price in Kenya (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average virgin olive oil export price amounted to $3,165 per ton, falling by -9.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 23%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $4,538 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Rwanda ($9,531 per ton), while the average price for exports to Burundi ($1,967 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Burundi (+19.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 662 tons of virgin olive oil were imported into Kenya; surging by 12% against the previous year's figure.
