Over the period under review, global production reached the maximum volume in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, video projector production shrank slightly to $10.9B in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, continues to indicate a noticeable decrease. The countries with the highest volumes of production in 2022 were the Philippines (18M units), China (9.9M units) and Japan (661K units), together comprising 94% of global production.

Imports

World Imports of Video Projectors

In 2022, overseas purchases of video projectors increased by 7.3% to 14M units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 17M units. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of global imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, video projector imports soared to $5.3B in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a perceptible decline. Over the period under review, global imports hit record highs at $6.5B in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports By Country

In 2022, the Netherlands (2.1M units), followed by the United States (1,335K units), Germany (1,175K units), Japan (744K units) and South Korea (732K units) represented the largest importers of video projectors, together achieving 45% of total imports. The United Arab Emirates (528K units), the UK (478K units), Indonesia (403K units), Belgium (379K units), India (350K units), Brazil (322K units), Thailand (308K units) and France (304K units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Import Prices By Country

The average video projector import price stood at $391 per unit in 2022, rising by 9.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $463 per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($786 per unit), while Thailand ($145 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

World Exports of Video Projectors

In 2022, overseas shipments of video projectors increased by 4.2% to 16M units, rising for the sixth year in a row after two years of decline. In general, total exports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +86.3% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 56% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the global exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, video projector exports totaled $4.9B in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a mild downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 21%. Exports By Country

China represented the main exporter of video projectors in the world, with the volume of exports accounting for 9.6M units, which was near 60% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by the Netherlands (1.8M units), the Philippines (1.3M units) and Germany (0.7M units), together generating a 24% share of total exports. The United Arab Emirates (628K units) and Hong Kong SAR (253K units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (+35.7%) and the Netherlands (+5.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Export Prices By Country

In 2022, the average video projector export price amounted to $302 per unit, surging by 6.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 7.7%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $554 per unit.
