Video Game Console Price in Hong Kong SAR (CIF) - 2022
The average video game console import price stood at $458 per unit in 2022, declining by -4.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 22%. The import price peaked at $479 per unit in 2021, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Japan ($458 per unit) and the United States ($458 per unit), while the price for Singapore ($458 per unit) and the UK ($458 per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average video game console export price amounted to $229 per unit, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 4.1% against the previous year. For the third year in a row, Hong Kong SAR recorded decline in supplies from abroad of video game consoles (not operated by means of payments), which decreased by -18.2% to 1.6M units in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The smallest decline of -11.3% was in 2021.
