Vegetable Product Price in Austria (CIF) - 2023
The average vegetable product import price stood at $3,508 per ton in June 2023, remaining stable against the previous month. In general, the import price showed tangible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 76% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $4,415 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($10,976 per ton), while the price for China ($3,015 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+19.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Vegetable Product Price in Austria (FOB) - 2022
The average vegetable product export price stood at $7,062 per ton in 2022, reducing by -12.5% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, vegetable product export price decreased by -33.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $12,511 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($9,606 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($3,501 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+22.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Vegetable Product Imports in Austria
For the fourth year in a row, Austria recorded growth in purchases abroad of vegetable products, which increased by 56% to 3.1K tons in 2022.
