Triticale Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average triticale import price stood at $242 per ton in August 2023, which is down by -4.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 5.1% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $352 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($241 per ton), while the price for Luxembourg ($209 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (-1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Triticale Price in Germany (FOB) - 2022
The average triticale export price stood at $323 per ton in 2022, surging by 28% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Austria ($357 per ton) and Italy ($333 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($313 per ton) and the Netherlands ($317 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Triticale Imports in Germany
In 2022, supplies from abroad of triticale decreased by -4.3% to 345K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.1% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -23.3% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 74% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 449K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, triticale imports skyrocketed to $119M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 73%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Triticale Exports in Germany
In 2022, shipments abroad of triticale decreased by -1.5% to 124K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 58% against the previous year.
In value terms, triticale exports soared to $40M in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 56%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
