The average sulphites; of sodium export price stood at $325 per ton in June 2023, reducing by -13.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 7.3% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $458 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($421 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($271 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (-2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
