Stranded Wire Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average stranded wire import price amounted to $2,660 per ton, jumping by 20% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($10,555 per ton), while the price for South Africa ($1,231 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Stranded Wire Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2022
The average stranded wire export price stood at $2,992 per ton in 2022, picking up by 72% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $3,296 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Paraguay ($7,075 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($995 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+16.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Stranded Wire Imports in Brazil
In 2022, imports of stranded wire, ropes and cables into Brazil fell to 87K tons, which is down by -11.1% compared with 2021 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 18%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 97K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, stranded wire imports rose significantly to $230M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 29% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Stranded Wire Exports in Brazil
For the third year in a row, Brazil recorded decline in shipments abroad of stranded wire, ropes and cables, which decreased by -5.6% to 20K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports faced a deep slump.
In value terms, stranded wire exports surged to $59M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +86.0% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
