Spinach Price in Thailand (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average spinach import price amounted to $865 per ton, shrinking by -11.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 28% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,100 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Australia ($12,423 per ton), while the price for China amounted to $575 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.9%).
Spinach Price in Thailand (FOB) - 2022
The average spinach export price stood at $484 per ton in 2022, remaining constant against the previous year. Overall, the export price faced a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 622%. The export price peaked at $4,579 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($4,258 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lao People's Democratic Republic ($260 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+14.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
