Wood Chips and Particles Production in the UK - 2022
In 2022, the amount of wood chips and particles produced in the UK expanded to 2.2M cubic meters, rising by 1.8% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, production, however, saw a mild setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the production volume increased by 7.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production attained the peak volume at 2.4M cubic meters in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, wood chips and particles production skyrocketed to $98M in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production posted a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the production volume increased by 91%. As a result, production reached the peak level of $112M. From 2021 to 2022, production growth failed to regain momentum.
