Primary Fiber Crops Price in Ireland (CIF) - 2022
The average primary fiber crops import price stood at $677 per ton in 2022, dropping by -16.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average import price increased by 166% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3,236 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($15,660 per ton), while the price for Italy ($81 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Pakistan (+19.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average primary fiber crops export price amounted to $15,449 per ton, shrinking by -25.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 497% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $20,746 per ton, and then fell notably in the following year.
