The average winding wire of copper export price stood at $8,574 per ton in May 2023, almost unchanged from the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 25% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $10,894 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to May 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In May 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Kazakhstan ($9,974 per ton) and Tajikistan ($9,773 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($8,349 per ton) and Turkmenistan ($9,667 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tajikistan (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
