In 2022, the average export price for wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses amounted to $5,760 per ton, rising by 4.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted a temperate expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 34% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($27,927 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($2,364 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+24.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, import price indicated a notable expansion from December 2022 to December 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2023 figures, import price for wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses increased by +93.5% against November 2023 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($52,147 per ton), while the price for Germany ($8,950 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+8.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
