The average import price for spices; nutmeg, crushed or ground stood at $6,378 per ton in 2022, jumping by 33% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 70% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $8,861 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($12,431 per ton), while the price for Germany ($1,911 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+18.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
