The average import price for spices; cardamoms, neither crushed nor ground stood at $13,635 per ton in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, posted a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 76%. The import price peaked at $13,680 per ton in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($16,661 per ton), while the price for Guatemala ($7,827 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+12.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
