The average import price for polymers of vinyl chloride or of other halogenated olefins, in primary formses stood at $1,106 per ton in October 2023, declining by -19.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 9% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,798 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to October 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($975 per ton), while the price for Norway ($151 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+7.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $1,517 per ton in November 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to October 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($3,077 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($468 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
