Price for Non-Silver Precious Metal Jewelry in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
The average non-silver precious metal jewelry export price stood at $23.6M per ton in July 2023, declining by -11.9% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 39% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $27.7M per ton in October 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to July 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Iraq ($54.1M per ton), while the average price for exports to Australia ($3.0M per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Israel (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average non-silver precious metal jewelry import price stood at $42.9M per ton in July 2023, which is down by -3.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 9.6% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $44,916 per kg; afterwards, it flattened through to July 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was India ($59.1M per ton), while the price for Germany ($6.7M per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Non-Silver Precious Metal Jewelry in Turkey
In 2022, exports of non-silver precious metal jewelry from Turkey declined to 278 tons, falling by -6.8% against 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 175% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 299 tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, non-silver precious metal jewelry exports surged to $8B in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 91% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
