The average non-mineral or non-aerated water import price stood at $12 per thousand litres in 2022, reducing by -4.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 52%. The import price peaked at $13 per thousand litres in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($100 per thousand litres), while the price for Turkey ($5.7 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+29.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average non-mineral or non-aerated water export price stood at $694 per thousand litres in September 2023, with an increase of 5.6% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +4.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 42% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $796 per thousand litres in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Spain ($1.1 per litre), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($273 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+26.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Water in the Netherlands
In 2022, the amount of non-mineral or non-aerated waters imported into the Netherlands rose remarkably to 6.9B litres, growing by 6.1% on 2021.
