The average import price for nickel; bars, rods, profiles and wires stood at $33,709 per ton in 2022, growing by 71% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for nickel; bars, rods, profiles and wires increased by +71.7% against 2020 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($54,782 per ton), while the price for Russia ($25,669 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average export price for nickel; bars, rods, profiles and wires stood at $33,276 per ton in 2022, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 70% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $50,288 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($63,286 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($17,983 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+21.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Nickel; Bars, Rods, Profiles and Wire in Belarus
