The average import price for mollusc preparations; octopus, prepared or preserveds stood at $9,462 per ton in July 2023, picking up by 5.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a slight decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 18% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $11,010 per ton. From March 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Vietnam ($10,575 per ton) and Indonesia ($9,651 per ton), while the price for China ($8,589 per ton) and the Philippines ($9,361 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (-1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
