The average import price for iron or non-alloy steel wire, not plated or coateds stood at $1,238 per ton in January 2024, stabilizing at the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 7.8% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,313 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to January 2024, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was China ($1,643 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($988 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, the export price saw a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 18% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,637 per ton. From May 2023 to January 2024, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($2,273 per ton), while the average price for exports to Norway ($1,299 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
