Price for Hydroxide and Peroxide of Magnesium in Italy (CIF) - 2023
The average import price for hydroxide and peroxide of magnesia stood at $1,955 per ton in July 2023, waning by -16.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 36% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,641 per ton. From January 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Austria ($3,235 per ton), while the price for Mexico ($1,402 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for hydroxide and peroxide of magnesia stood at $2,521 per ton in 2022, reducing by -7.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, posted a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 33%. The export price peaked at $2,737 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($4,865 per ton), while the average price for exports to Tunisia ($640 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
