In 2022, the average import price for halides and halide oxides of non-metals; excluding chlorides amounted to $15,279 per ton, with an increase of 11% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($27,196 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($4,147 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+10.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for halides and halide oxides of non-metals; excluding chlorides stood at $25,636 per ton in 2022, growing by 3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 56% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $39,705 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($69,920 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($15,984 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Algeria (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of halides and halide oxides of non-metals; excluding chlorides decreased by -35.7% to 975 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 130% against the previous year.
