In April 2021, the average import price for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) amounted to $1,867 per ton, dropping by -20.6% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated prominent growth from January 2021 to April 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +7.6% over the last three-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on April 2021 figures, import price for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) decreased by -20.6% against March 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2021 when the average import price increased by 31% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $2,352 per ton in March 2021, and then fell remarkably in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,741 per ton), while the price for Russia ($1,468 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to April 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average export price for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) amounted to $4,403 per ton, dropping by -8.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 57%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,814 per ton, and then declined in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($5,755 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($1,522 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Imports of Ether-Alcohols and Their Halogenated, Sulphonated, Nitrated or Nitrosated Derivatives in Belarus
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol), when their volume decreased by -22.6% to 2.1K tons. Overall, imports showed a pronounced reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 12%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 2.7K tons, and then shrank significantly in the following year.
In value terms, imports of ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) dropped to $4.2M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 38%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $4.9M, and then declined in the following year.
