Price for Electronic Integrated Circuits; Amplifiers in China (CIF) - 2023

The average electronic integrated circuits; amplifiers import price stood at $339 per thousand units in June 2023, increasing by 6% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 24% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $521 per thousand units in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($1.8 per unit), while the price for Germany ($55.0 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average electronic integrated circuits; amplifiers export price stood at $236 per thousand units in June 2023, with a decrease of -16.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a slight decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 when the average export price increased by 24% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $382 per thousand units in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was India ($489 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($69.0 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Electronic Integrated Circuits; Amplifiers in China

For the fourth year in a row, China recorded growth in supplies from abroad of electronic integrated circuits, which increased by 3.9% to 44B units in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +22.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +84.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, electronic integrated circuits; amplifiers imports soared to $15.3B in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +23.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +86.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 25%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Over the period under review, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +48.0% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 16B units, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, electronic integrated circuits; amplifiers exports shrank to $4B in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $4.1B, and then shrank modestly in the following year.
