The average import price for crustacean preparations; shrimps and prawns, prepared or preserved, not in airtight containerses stood at $8,951 per ton in 2022, picking up by 5.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 33% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $15,254 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($11,563 per ton), while the price for Spain ($3,576 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovenia (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the export price recorded a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 181% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $19,291 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Romania.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Austria amounted to +20.4% per year.

Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Over the period under review, imports posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 112%.
