The average import price for copper; washers, (including spring washers), not threadeds stood at $29,558 per ton in January 2024, with an increase of 4.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 23% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $46,667 per ton. From August 2023 to January 2024, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was the United States ($71,667 per ton), while the price for China ($10,337 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, export price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 32%. The export price peaked at $80,573 per ton in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($186,742 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($30,076 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
