The average copper; refined, unwrought, billets import price stood at $9,165 per ton in July 2023, approximately mirroring the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 9.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $9,828 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Austria ($9,375 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($6,463 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $9,997 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Italy.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Italy amounted to +1.8% per month.
