Price for Cereal, Fruit or Nut Chocolate Bar in Egypt (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for chocolate bars with cereals, fruit or nuts stood at $6,965 per ton in September 2023, increasing by 2.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a perceptible curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 24% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $9,275 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Iraq ($7,410 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kenya ($4,560 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kuwait (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for chocolate bars with cereals, fruit or nuts stood at $3,806 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -15% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 80%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $5,614 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($6,353 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($3,636 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+12.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
