Price for Camel and Other Animal Meat in Slovakia (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for meat of camels and other animals stood at $9,759 per ton in August 2023, with an increase of 6.5% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, camel and other animal meat export price decreased by -15.7% against May 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 73% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $11,571 per ton. From June 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($14,559 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($6,703 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+9.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for meat of camels and other animals stood at $5,464 per ton in August 2023, picking up by 16% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a mild expansion from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, camel and other animal meat import price increased by +18.1% against May 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 34% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,222 per ton. From May 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($6,432 per ton), while the price for Slovenia ($4,647 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Camel and Other Animal Meat in Slovakia
Camel and other animal meat exports from Slovakia surged to 804 tons in 2022, growing by 39% against 2021. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a temperate expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last three years.
