In October 2023, the average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $2,256 per ton, surging by 7.6% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2023 when the average export price increased by 13% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in October 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($3,037 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($1,848 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $728 per ton in 2022, dropping by -6.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 16%. The import price peaked at $855 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($1,214 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($600 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds, when their volume decreased by -9% to 474K tons. Over the period under review, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 4.6% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 521K tons, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, exports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds dropped to $631M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 12% against the previous year.
