The average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $708 per ton in September 2023, which is down by -24.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 27% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,200 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($3,509 per ton), while the price for Germany ($510 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+10.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $827 per ton in 2022, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds increased by +42.4% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 64% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $928 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($1,801 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($519 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Cabbages, Cauliflowers, Kohlrabi, Kale and Similar Edible Brassicas; Fresh or Chilled in Slovakia
In 2022, approx. 41K tons of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds were imported into Slovakia; picking up by 4% on the year before. In general, imports, however, showed a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 18%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 51K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, imports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds totaled $32M in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 2.8%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In 2022, overseas shipments of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds increased by 1.8% to 926 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, showed a significant contraction.
In value terms, exports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds totaled $765K in 2022. In general, exports, however, faced a dramatic downturn.
