The average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $453 per ton in 2022, increasing by 7.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 1,048%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,708 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Iran ($452 per ton), while the price for Turkey amounted to $445 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (+11.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
