Price for Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Saudi Arabia (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average books, brochures and leaflets import price amounted to $7,581 per ton, waning by -7.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, books, brochures and leaflets import price increased by +57.4% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $8,193 per ton in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($24,321 per ton), while the price for Lebanon ($2,722 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+13.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average books, brochures and leaflets export price stood at $3,066 per ton in 2022, increasing by 13% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $7,268 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($9,730 per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($689 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Jordan (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Saudi Arabia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of books, brochures, leaflets and similar printed matter increased by 1.7% to 12K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a perceptible decrease.
In value terms, books, brochures and leaflets imports shrank to $92M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 13%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $97M, and then declined in the following year.

Exports of Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Saudi Arabia
After three years of growth, overseas shipments of books, brochures, leaflets and similar printed matter decreased by -18% to 3.7K tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 4.5K tons, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, books, brochures and leaflets exports fell to $11M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $12M, and then contracted in the following year.
