Price for Aluminium; Tubes and Pipes in Malaysia (CIF) - 2021
In December 2021, the average aluminium; tubes and pipes import price amounted to $5,316 per ton, which is down by -30.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a pronounced decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2021 when the average import price increased by 57% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $8,777 per ton in December 2020; however, from January 2021 to December 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was France ($19,413 per ton), while the price for China ($3,834 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average aluminium; tubes and pipes export price stood at $5,104 per ton in December 2021, dropping by -6.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2021 an increase of 22% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $7,132 per ton in December 2020; however, from January 2021 to December 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Ghana ($9,417 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($3,834 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bangladesh (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Aluminium; Tubes and Pipes in Malaysia
Aluminium; tubes and pipes imports into Malaysia shrank to 5.8K tons in 2022, which is down by -7.2% compared with the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 48% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 6.2K tons, and then dropped in the following year.
