The average export price for alcohols; cyclanic, cyclenic or cycloterpenic and derivatives, menthol stood at $21,222 per ton in November 2023, rising by 2.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 an increase of 9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $23,196 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In November 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Thailand ($27,099 per ton) and France ($21,690 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($19,033 per ton) and the United States ($19,084 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 30% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $24,727 per ton. From February 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($27,917 per ton), while the price for Germany ($12,637 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
