The average export price for alcohols; cyclanic, cyclenic or cycloterpenic and derivatives, menthol stood at $21,222 per ton in November 2023, rising by 2.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 an increase of 9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $23,196 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In November 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Thailand ($27,099 per ton) and France ($21,690 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($19,033 per ton) and the United States ($19,084 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
