The average preserved sauerkraut import price stood at $2,575 per ton in September 2023, jumping by 16% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 23% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in September 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($5,857 per ton), while the price for Poland ($1,534 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
