Preserved Beef Price in Hong Kong SAR (CIF) - 2023
The average preserved beef import price stood at $5,564 per ton in June 2023, picking up by 9% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 20% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $6,355 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($7,848 per ton), while the price for Bangladesh ($574 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average preserved beef export price stood at $6,212 per ton in 2022, increasing by 76% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep slump. The export price peaked at $17,690 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
