Pasta Products Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022
In January 2022, the average pasta products export price amounted to $1,216 per ton, surging by 11% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2021 when the average export price increased by 12% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $1,227 per ton in July 2021; afterwards, it flattened through to January 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($1,776 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkmenistan ($417 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mongolia (+11.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pasta Products Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022
In January 2022, the average pasta products import price amounted to $1,763 per ton, picking up by 12% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2021 an increase of 37% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,857 per ton. From November 2021 to January 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($4,384 per ton), while the price for Belarus ($690 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pasta Products Exports in Russia
Pasta products exports from Russia expanded to 75K tons in 2022, picking up by 4.1% against the year before. In general, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern.
In value terms, pasta products exports contracted modestly to $77M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 11% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $81M, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

Pasta Products Imports in Russia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of dried, undried and frozen pasta and pasta products decreased by -16% to 25K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +16.1% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +56.6% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 30K tons, and then dropped notably in the following year.
In value terms, pasta products imports contracted markedly to $35M in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 88% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $46M, and then fell notably in the following year.
