Olive Price in Jordan (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average olive export price amounted to $2,972 per ton, picking up by 3.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed noticeable growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 163%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($3,303 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($525 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Israel (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average olive import price stood at $2,496 per ton in 2022, surging by 80% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average import price increased by 93%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $4,034 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Turkey.

Olive Exports in Jordan
In 2022, shipments abroad of olives decreased by -61.6% to 876 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 6,161%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 3.1K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, olive exports contracted dramatically to $2.6M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 16,371% against the previous year.

Olive Imports in Jordan
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of olives decreased by -10.3% to 1.1 tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +16.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +56.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 37%.
In value terms, olive imports surged to $2.8K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
