Oil Crops Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average oil crops import price amounted to $946 per ton, picking up by 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 29%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($9,998 per ton), while the price for Kazakhstan ($508 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+22.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average oil crops export price amounted to $372 per ton, reducing by -17% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a slight reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 13%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $464 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($469 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($297 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Oil Crops Imports in Russia
In 2022, overseas purchases of oil crops (primary) decreased by -4% to 2.1M tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports continue to indicate a mild downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 1.4%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2.2M tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, oil crops imports soared to $2B in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +61.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 28%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
