Non-Liquid Margarine Price in Ghana (CIF) - 2022

The average non-liquid margarine import price stood at $1,194 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -12.2% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 27%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,361 per ton, and then declined in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($2,219 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($848 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+9.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average non-liquid margarine export price amounted to $1,600 per ton, surging by 5.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 53%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,777 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Niger ($2,158 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cote d'Ivoire ($1,167 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Niger (+14.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
