Newspaper Price in Tunisia (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average newspaper import price amounted to $3.4 per unit, with an increase of 18% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 21%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4 per unit. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($4.2 per unit), while the price for Kuwait ($0.6 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average newspaper export price amounted to $9.9 per unit, with a decrease of -34.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 207% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $23 per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Cote d'Ivoire.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Cote d'Ivoire amounted to +3.2% per year.
Newspaper Imports in Tunisia
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of newspapers, journals and periodicals, when their volume decreased by -19.5% to 239K units. In general, imports showed a dramatic decrease. Imports peaked at 498K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
