Mandarins Price in Kazakhstan (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average mandarins import price amounted to $658 per ton, picking up by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($916 per ton), while the price for Russia ($325 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+13.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($678 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia stood at $462 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uzbekistan (-6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, overseas purchases of fruit, edible were finally on the rise to reach 63K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, total imports indicated a measured increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
