Maize Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
The average maize import price stood at $239 per ton in July 2023, waning by -5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 6.9% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $383 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Argentina ($871 per ton), while the price for Moldova ($231 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+7.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Maize Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average maize export price amounted to $491 per ton, surging by 3.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 51%. The export price peaked at $1,478 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,312 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cyprus ($327 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+26.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Maize Imports in Turkey
